About

My journey to art started with a single moment.  I always had a love and fascination with animals from my house hold pets to nature I found around myself growing up in Montana.  This led to wanting to be a veterinarian.  Early in grade school I entered an art contest.  The subject was "what I want to be when I grow up."  So excited just to depict my future self taking care of animals I went straight to work.  Not wanting to win.  Just wanting to say "this will be me."  I entered my work and to my surprise won.  My rough scrappy picture of me standing aside my lab table with my cat and dog patients and surrounding doctor's office equipment had won!  After that I could think of nothing else but drawing, painting, crafting...anything.  Starting out coping my favorite cartoon characters to drawing my pets, family and all that nature around me.

As a child of a military family we relocated from Montana to Nebraska and settled in my mother's home state of Texas.  The passion and pursuit of art continued through grade school to college.  Here is where we take a turn.  I will not say an unfortunate one.  Like so many, my art pursuits fell wayside to pursuing a more financially consistent career.  For 20+ years I thrived in a career in retail business leadership.  I am very grateful for this experience as it gave me so many skills I can now apply to the marketing and customer care of my full-time art business to provide the highest quality experience for each of you.

My practice and passion of art has never left me.  I continue to draw and paint the world around me.  All my works inspired still by my family, fur friends, random and maybe strange thoughts and things that make me think or smile.  My favorite theme is a candid moment.  A bride in anticipation of the ceremony.  A person in awe as they watch a great live musician.  Lovers walking on the rain.  Capturing humanity at its most sought after times.

As you travel through my work you will see I work in many mediums and styles.  I continue to search for "my signature" style and having fun on the journey.  I truly hope you find something that speaks to you or maybe you know will speak to someone you know.  You are such an important part of the journey.  Once an artist puts their work out in the world it no longer belongs to them but to the interpretation, communication, appreciation and care of the art lover.
